HURU Giveaway Terms and Conditions
- Introduction
These terms and conditions (“T&Cs”) govern your participation in the HU Am I? (“the Giveaway”) conducted by HURU. By entering the Giveaway, participants agree to abide by these T&Cs, and all participants are deemed to have accepted and understood these T&Cs by their participation.
- Eligibility
2.1 The Giveaway is open to residents of South Africa who are 18 years or older at the time of entry.
2.2 Employees, directors, agents, and contractors of the Promoter and its associated companies, including immediate family members and household members, are not eligible to enter the Giveaway.
2.3 The Giveaway is void where prohibited by law.
- Giveaway Period
The Giveaway will run on a weekly basis from 7 November 2024 until 28 November 2024. Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
- How to Enter
4.1 Participants can enter the Giveaway by following HURU social media platforms, participant will be required to comment on said social media post.
4.2 No purchase is necessary to enter the Giveaway.
4.3 Multiple entries are not permitted but additional entry will be allocated based on competition rules.
- Prize
5.1 The prize is a R500.00 (Five Hundred Rand) Takealot Voucher.
5.2 The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods.
5.3 The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with another of similar value if the original prize is unavailable.
- Winner Selection and Notification
6.1 The winner(s) will be selected by random draw weekly. Winner(s) will be drawn the following week Friday.
6.2 The winner(s) will be notified via social media announcement and direct contact within 24 hours of announcement.
6.3 If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 48 hours of the initial notification, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize and select an alternative winner.
- Claiming the Prize
7.1 The prize must be claimed within 48 hours, after which the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize and award it to another participant.
7.2 The Promoter will arrange for the prize to be delivered or made available for collection, as agreed with the winner.
- Publicity
By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in any publicity related to the Giveaway, including the use of their name, likeness, and image in promotional materials for marketing purposes without further compensation or notification, unless prohibited by law. Participants may opt-out of such publicity by notifying the Promoter in writing.
- Data Protection and Privacy
9.1 The Promoter will collect, store, and process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
9.2 Personal data collected during the Giveaway will be used only for the purpose of administering the Giveaway and will not be shared with third parties without the participant’s consent, except as necessary to fulfil the prize.
- Disqualification
10.1 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant found to be in breach of these T&Cs, including but not limited to:
- Providing false information.
- Engaging in fraudulent activity or tampering with the entry process.
- Failing to meet eligibility requirements.
- Limitation of Liability
11.1 The Promoter, its agents, and affiliates are not responsible for any technical or human error, including but not limited to errors related to entry submissions, the availability of the prize, or any damages related to the acceptance and use of the prize.
11.2 To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages, losses, or expenses arising in connection with the Giveaway or the prize.
- General
12.1 The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the Giveaway and/or these T&Cs at any time, without prior notice, if circumstances arise that are beyond its control.
12.2 Any changes to the Giveaway or these T&Cs will be communicated through social media pages.
12.3 The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the Giveaway is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
12.4 The Giveaway and these T&Cs are governed by the laws of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
